happy father's day

what a great weekend, nice weather, start of the summer and father's day for all the father and sons out there. my father is is low key, usually doesn't like to celebrate things. for his birthday a few months ago we just had a BBQ and had people over. he's semi-retired so i guess he enjoys just spending time with people. but unfortunately he's out of town this weekend so our family will br celebrating later.

but i did have a chance to hang out with another father & son yesterday, sam & jalen. i did an impromptu photo session with jalen when he was about 18 months old. now he's much bigger, and saying lots of cute and funny things that kids say. he'll be turning 3 years old in a few months. he was a little shy yesterday, mainly because there were lots of unfamilar faces around. but i'm hoping i can meet up with them and do a real portrait session soon.

Lesedi

there were some bright moments of 2008, and beautiful Lesedi was one of them, she was born on december 17 2008. the thing about year-end babies is that sometmes they don't get as much lovin' because their birthday is so close to christmas. but Lesedi won't have this  problem because her parents, niki & sokea already spoil her. they have a closet full of gifts that she might not even be able to use because she is growing so fast. we spent half the shoot just feeding her. baby shoots are always challenging because we have to work around the baby's schedule. she was tiring me out after a couple hours,  i can't imagine what the parents go through all day. but she was really co-operative at the end and we got some great shots.

meet Noah...

back in august i met with kevin and liza to do their pregnancy photo shoot. they were so much fun to work with and this time around i got to meet their newest addition, noah. this was my first serious newborn session and it was definitely a challenge. it was a total team effort to get through it. one parent had to hold noah, and the other was on stand by with the towel in case of any surprises. haha. but noah was great, he was quite for most of the shoot. he's such a cute baby. i only got to spend a couple hours with him and i'm sad i won't be around for all the other cute things he does and will do. but i'm happy for this new family, kevin and liza are great parents already!

Jalen (October)

i'm pulling out pics from my archive, these i had to post as this is the cutest kid i've ever seen. everyone knows a baby that they think is the cutest kid ever, but this kid here has model written all over him. he's great in front of the camera and can even do 'blue steel'. if theres an agent out there, send me an email and give this kid a contract. his name is Jalen and he was about 16 months old in this photos but he looks like he's 3 yrs old. he's a big kid, will be 2 in july. hopefully i can do another shoot with him soon but i'll keep you guys updated.
